"NetCrunch has saved my department huge amounts of time. Like most places, getting the WAN department to listen to us is problematic. With this product we are able to look at our port setting for the switches and diagnose problems, before going to WAN. One of the biggest problems we've had in the past is the port settings. All of our labs (17 of them) are supposed to be set to 100/full. However, sometimes a port would not be set correctly – this is a very big problem when we GHOST our labs. With NetCrunch we can look and immediately see incorrect ports.
We've also used this in troubleshooting something on our campus called a DART machine. We had terrible problems with them loosing network connectivity. NetCrunch let us set SNMP traps to notify us when they went down, letting us help WAN track down the problems."
